Refer to my Relationship Reflection section on the far right side of my blog for my most important relationships. Over the past three years, I have developed more relationships outside of my family. One of those new relationships is with a group called the YMCA Urban Mission. This group of people humbles me with what they do. They help urban children, but they also help society's "throw away" children (minority children who are uneducated and incarcerated). I share the same values with this group, and our relationship is reciprocal. My insights from this group - humility and authenticity. This group is helping me emerge out of a corporate environment where the values are very different.
Joyful,
ReplyDeleteI too have a relationship with God "My creator", I take time every night to thank him for all the wonderful things that I have in my life.
I agree with you that in every relationship there should be mutual give and take or this relationship would be short lived as you stated. Great post and thanks for sharing.
Joy,
ReplyDeleteI really like how you stated that your sons are your mirrors. I never looked at my kids quite that way before but you are so correct. So many times I've said "he is so me"...meaning my son acts just like me and it is usually about something funny that we both do. I need to be more aware of how I act all of the time because my children are a reflection of that! I can't thank you enough for pointing that out to me.
Even though I grew up going to church I never really felt a deep or true connection to God. Over the past two years that has changed and I actully feel empty or sad when I miss a week of church. I didn't think to mention that relationship in my own blog but I am thankful for you for pointing that relationship out to me!

Joyful, your name says it all. You have been a great inspiration throughout the courses we have taken together. Even though we don't see it other in a classroom setting your commemts that you share through our discussions and blogs has establish our relationship as colleagues through the classes we have taken. I feel that we all have learned so much from one another that we have work so hard to get to this point. I feel that our working relationship as well as a partnership here at Walden will continue to grow throughout this graduate program.
